The Art of Playing Singing Bowls

How to play, sing and share their healing vibrations

This one-day workshop is an opportunity to explore the essence of sound, developing a deep understanding and practical knowledge of singing bowls to enhance your yoga and meditation practice.

We will explore and experience the art of singing bowls, learning the unique techniques of playing and "singing" these magical instruments. The day will begin with a focus on experiencing sound and its effects on the body and environment. This will be followed by a demonstration of technique and an opportunity to work in small groups, practicing and refining our newly learnt skills. We will also consider the use of the singing bowl as a diagnostic tool—a kind of sonic MRI scan—to detect energetic stagnation and support a return to free flow.

This event is ideal for:

  • Anyone interested in an introduction to sound healing, mantra, and song within their yogic or holistic practice and/or teaching

  • Musicians who wish to add a healing dimension to their compositions

  • Anyone curious about learning to use singing bowls for personal or professional enrichment

There will be singing bowls available to practice with, but you are most welcome to bring your own.

What to bring:

  • Yoga mat

  • Light blanket

  • Bolster or block

  • Water bottle

  • Your own lunch

Tea and coffee refreshments will be provided.
