- strive for a steady comfortable posture
- balance strength and relaxation
5. Consistency over intensity
- regular practice is more beneficial than occasional intensity
- build gradually and sustainably
6. Self-awareness and intuition
- listen to your body signals
- modify or rest when needed
7. Non-attachment (Aparigraha)
- Release expectations of performance or progress
- accept where you are each day
8. Respect for individual needs
- everybody is different - Honor your limitations
- use props or modifications without judgment
9. Integration of body, mind and spirit
- practice as a holistic experience, not just physical exercise
- allow space for reflection and inner growth
10. Gratitude and intention (Sankalpa)
- begin with a purpose or positive intention
- and your practice with gratitude for the time and effort
