Mantra and mudra are two of the most precious gifts of the yogic sages.
They are both mediums that have a positive and transformational effect on our being, from the outer layers to the inner. They are indispensable tools for yoga practice and assist in the experience of deeper states of meditation through the adjustment and harnessing of subtle energy.
In the morning session, Yogacharya Michael McCann will guide us through the theory of mantra and its roots in nada, the science of vibration; its relationship with Sanskrit; and the correct practice of vocalising the Pranava, chakra seed sounds and other key mantras, including the Chakra Gayatris.
In the afternoon, we will learn the meanings of mudra and practise a variety, including head mudras, hand mudras, postural mudras, lock or bandha mudras, and perineal mudras.
