DEEPENING YOUR PRACTICE #2 - Chakra Yoga with Orla Wallace

  • Maitri Studio 4 The Mount Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT5 4NA United Kingdom (map)

We welcome Orla Wallace, to continue our Deepening Your Practice series of workshops in collaboration with the Maitri Studio. Click here to find out about the whole series. The workshops qualify as CPD hours for members of the Yoga Fellowship NI.

We are so much more than muscle and bone, and our Yoga practice can be so much more than asana and movement.

The Chakra system comes out of the tantra tradition. Tantra translates as ‘expansion device’.

If we consider the Chakra system as a mind-body map, and each Chakra a lens directed inwards, we see more clearly how we can explore connections between the physiological, mental, spiritual and more. The Chakras invite us to explore these connections using sound, colour, image and movement. These both expand and bring our inner world to life. Then, from this new perspective, as we develop a deeper connection to ourselves, we can integrate our inner and outer world.

In this creative workshop we will learn to tune into the subtler sensations as we explore the body through colour, sound, and movement learning to expand sensation and lean into our sense of aliveness in a playful way.
